The same has been recognized by the judiciary in bestowing it the status of a fundamental right under articles 19 and 21 of the constitution as it is imperative in shaping the democratic discourse of the nation. But the present pattern of voting deprives many out-of-city voters from exercising their right to vote like out-of-state students, migrant workers etc. This article explores the legal, administrative and logistical challenges faced by them because of geographical boundaries.
